And can I ever forget her face when she stood in line hopefully waiting for Mickey to make an appearance !!! For a second, actually seconds, she was speechless, and did not even know she had to smile. She kept looking at Mickey and couldn't move. My son whispered, " Mommy, I need to tell you something but I have to do it privately. I don't want to ruin it for her. Its only a guy in a costume." I was grateful for this valuable piece of information and remembered the first time my son went to visit Mickey five years back.
It was deja vu.... the same wonder, the same unreal feeling of being stuck in a comic book, the same speechlessness. and then I realised, the next time we go, my daughter will probably say the same thing... "Mommy, its only a guy in a costume...Doesn't he feel hot?'" or some such thing, and in a heartbeat I'll realise, she has grown up.
And of course, the fireworks in the night were beyond spectacular. Easily the best fireworks we all have ever seen. What stayed with me for days was the line from the fireworks narration.....
"The place in our hearts where dreams reside is also the place where magic exists......As long as we believe in our dreams, magic can happen...."
Thanks to both my kids, cynical me enjoyed moments which would have been silly without them....... Its almost like I visited mickey for the first time? If anyone goes, say hello and thanks to him for me....
